During the first two days of our outdoor climbing course you will learn the most important basics for independent lead climbing with a partner in a climbing garden. On the third day we will add few more skills and tackle your first multi-pitch climb.
The course is intended for climbing beginners who want to leave the top-rope level and advance to lead climbing routes in the climbing garden and an introduction to multi-pitch climbing.
The focus of this course are
– Tying into the climbing harness
– Material knowlegde & useful knots for climbing
– Belaying options and use of different belay devices
– Correct way of clipping the quick draws
– Abseiling & rethreading at the belaystation
– Intensive climbing training for independent climbing of sport climbing routes
– First-time multi-pitch climb
During this climbing course we will be climbing routes between the 3rd and 5th degree of difficulty, depending on each participants’ ability and skills. Our 3-day course aims to teach you all the techniques and methods that are common in modern-day sport and multi-pitch climbing.
The number of participants is limited to 4-6 persons per group.
The course fee includes the guiding costs and transportation from Andermatt. Rental equipment (climbing harness, climbing shoes, quick draws, rope, belay device, etc.) is available for CHF 50.- per Person.
Please bring your own hiking boots, backpack, drinks and lunch.
Andermatt with its surrounding climbing gardens and multi-pitch routes is the ideal starting point for our climbing course. And if the weather doesn’t play along up here, it’s not far to the most beautiful climbing spots in Ticino or the lower parts of Central Switzerland.
