Day-Trip

Come with us on an extraordinary expedition and dive into the breathtaking glacier world of our region!

After a good 35-minute ride up the Furka Pass, we leave the shuttle at the former Grand Hotel Belvedere and make our way down to the glacier. First we go through the kiosk, then follow the info trail past the meltwater lake down to the edge of the glacier. There we put on our climbing harnesses and gather for a quick safety briefing, before we head out on the glacier fully equipped with crampons, helmet and ice axe.

Depending on the weather conditions we will be entering crevasses and explore waterways on the surface and below. Learning how to use and handle our equipment properly and how to safely move on top of glaciers is the main concern. Aside from that you will be able to see how much impact climate change has already had on this unique ice landscape and what is being done to preserve it.

Please bring along some warm clothes (and light or work gloves), mountain boots (suitable for crampons), and a backpack with drinks and snack or lunch box.

Meeting point is in front of Andermatt’s train station (southside).

Price includes: Guiding, Transfer from and to Andermatt Train Station, Safety Equipment (harness, crampons, helmet, ice ax)
